Three decades after audiences found out what exactly was inside the box, David Fincher‘s Se7en is set to receive an official 4K Ultra HD release. Pre-orders are ongoing for the film for the anniversary rollout on January 7th. To celebrate the legacy of the 1995 release, Se7en will also be released in IMAX for the first time with a limited engagement at over 150 screens throughout the US starting January 3rd.
Fincher’s second-ever feature film was a sleeper hit upon release and has remained in the conversation over the past three decades as a notable crime drama. The 4K Ultra HD release will contain a number of bonus features, including commentary from Fincher and the film’s stars Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt, half a dozen deleted scenes, and footage of proposed alternate endings.
