TABOR CITY, N.C. (WECT) – The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is investigating a shooting that may be linked to social media.
CCSO says the shooting was reported on Jan. 16 at a home on Rolan Boulevard in Tabor City.
Reports say one of the victims, Tangela McKinnon, suffered from a graze wound from a bullet.
McKinnon told deputies that she and her boyfriend were in bed when bullets began to be shot into their home.
CCSO says McKinnon believes the incident may be connected to threatening Snapchat messages her son, LaQuintin Floyd, had been getting after posting a memorial photo of his late ex-girlfriend.
According to CCSO, there were four people in the home when the shooting began.
The case remains open and under investigation.
