Singapore PM Warns of ‘Third World War’ Over US and China Relations [Video]

Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has warned that escalating U.S.-China tensions could lead to disastrous consequences worldwide if the countries decoupled, according to local media.

He said that splitting into two blocs and forcing other countries to align with either superpower risked pushing the globe “to the brink of a third world war,” The Straits Times reported.

The United States and China are locked in a competition for global influence, with Washington emphasizing security alliances and Beijing leveraging its economic dominance.

Trump has threatened a possible new 10 percent tariff on Chinese goods, a move that could reignite a trade war and increase tensions.
