Smithwick’s has teamed up with a Japanese musician who plays traditional Irish music as part of their new “Originals Find Originals”campaign.
The campaign features Tokyo’s original Irish musician, Kozo Toyota, as well as Dublin bar man, Hugh Hourican of the Boar’s Head.
Smithwick’s say their 315-year-old brand sits alongside trad music, storytelling, Irish art and sport.
The brand says it is trying to connect with communities who are seeking out and re-inventing old Irish traditions.
The campaign, developed in collaboration with Ringers Creative, is focusing on people putting their own spin on Irish trad music.
They are working with TradFest- the traditional Irish musical festival based in Temple Bar, but also Kozo Toyota.
Kozo is a Tokyo-based Irish Trad musician who first came to Ireland in 2007.
He connected with the Irish music scene quickly becoming a part of the Irish music community.
He has come to Ireland nearly every year since, for Trad festivals and fleadhs.
