Among the exciting announcements by NVIDIA during CES 2025, one stands out for Steam Deck owners. NVIDIA revealed that a native app for the GeForce Now cloud gaming service will arrive on Valve’s handheld device later in 2025.
As it stands, GeForce Now can already be accessed on the Steam Deck through a browser, with added ease provided by a script created by NVIDIA. However, the new native app promises a more seamless and user-friendly experience.
The native app will allow users to stream their purchased games from the cloud, offering a catalog of around 2,100 supported titles. Performance is expected to significantly surpass the base hardware’s capabilities. This boost will be noticeable in both portable mode and when the Steam Deck is connected to an external display. Gamers can enjoy resolutions up to 4K at 60 FPS or 1440p at 120 FPS, complete with HDR support.
