VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – The Vermillion County Soil and Water Conservation District hosted a free forestry and invasive plants workshop.
The workshop aims to bring people together to share knowledge and promote awareness in improving Indiana’s landholdings.
Presentations were held indoors at Rangeline Conservation Club.
Topics covered include forest management planning, invasive plant identification, hands-on demonstrations, phragmites control in aquatic environments, and Mill Creek watershed updates.
“Invasive can choke off our forest, which is going to prevent pollinators or the tree species that we want to grow which is going to hurt the quality of our forest and then that can turn and have an impact on our water quality,” said Steven Mcghee, Vermillion Co. Soil and Water Conservation District.
