The good thing about the Optimus robots that Tesla rolled out at its We, Robot Cybercab reveal event in California to interact with attendees is that they weren’t people in suits this time, the bad thing is that they weren’t real AI-powered machines, and instead were being remotely operated and voiced by Tesla employees somewhere else.
Several sources, including attendees and publications like The Verge believe that the robots were not AI-powered, one of major features of the upcoming machines Telsa is looking to sell to factories and other industrial firms at some point in the future for around $20 000 to $30 000 a pop.
