SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – On this edition of Throwback Thursday, Lori Kent with the Local Lou Podcast shares more on a dramatic attempt to commit murder in east Sioux Falls.
On New Year’s Eve in 1936, a large powder storehouse exploded at 9:35 p.m.
The explosion created a crater 25-feet deep and shattered hundreds of windows within a 40-mile radius. The blast registered on seismographs in California.
Inside, kegs of powder, dynamite and an unconscious man were found.
