Prepare to be Beasted.
On Monday, Prime Video released a teaser for YouTube superstar MrBeast’s game show “Beast Games,” which is coming to the platform next month.
The real-life “Squid Game”-style reality competition series is Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson’s first foray into Hollywood after he independently built an enormously successful content business on YouTube. In “Beast Games,” 1000 players compete in MrBeast’s signature physical and mental endurance tests to win a $5 million grand prize, one of the largest game show pots of all time. Donaldson co-created the show with Tyler Conklin, Sean Klitzner, and Mack Hopkins and serves as host.
The show has already proven to be controversial, with reportsof alleged dangerous and unprofessional conditions for contestants during production, including contestants allegedly having medicine withheld by production staff. Five contestants filed a lawsuit against MrBeast and Amazon alleging “chronic mistreatment,” including sexual harassment and many forms of dangerous and negligent conditions. He …
