Although CENTCOM release did not identify ships, video indicates Norfolk-based USS Truman group was involved
NORFOLK, Va. — Navy warships ushered in the new year with a new round of strikes on Houthi rebel sites in Yemen.
Video released by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) showed F/A-18 Super Hornets launching from the flight deck of an aircraft carrier, and Tomahawk Cruise missiles being launched from a surface ship.
According to a CENTCOM post on X, the ships and aircraft targeted a Houthi command and control facility and advanced conventional weapon production and storage facilities that included missiles and uncrewed aerial vehicles.
The post said there were no injuries or damage to U.S. personnel or equipment.
CENTCOM did not specifically identify the U.S. ships.
But they almost certainly were members of the Norfolk-based USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (CSG).
