Vince Russo Takes Credit For Triple H’s ‘The Game’ Moniker [Video]

Triple H would never have been known as The Game during his successful career in WWE if not for Vince Russo, according to the ex-WWE writer.

On a recent edition of his “Writing With Russo” podcast, Russo made his claim about the iconic moniker for WWE’s Chief Content Officer. He said,

“I gave Triple H, The Game. I wrote that line for him in a promo, specifically for him to start referring to himself as The Game.”

Triple H began referring to himself as The Game in 1999 as the D-Generation X member set out on a singles push that would see him become WWE Champion.

For years, it has been rumored that the nickname was meant for Owen Hart but was repurposed for Triple H after Hart’s tragic passing.
