GRANDVIEW, Mo. (KCTV) – Students in the Hickman Mills School District are learning valuable lessons on media literacy, focused on how to decipher what is true, and what is not.
Nowadays, the answer to just about anything is on a cell phone or computer. Finding out whether the information you see can often be easier said than done.
On Thursday, students helped create their own curriculum on media literacy. Teens met with the Mid-Continent Public Library Digital Innovation Department, discussing better ways to fact-check and evaluate sources.
“We can’t just focus on adults, we really need teens in our species learning about these issues because they are the future and using these platforms in ways we can’t even imagine,” Mid-Continent Public Library Digital Innovation Manager, Erin Kennedy said.
