The YouTuber, born Jimmy Donaldson, met Booysen, a fellow gamer and internet personality from South Africa, in 2022 when he was visiting her home country. During that trip, MrBeast went to dinner with a mutual friend who invited Booysen to join them.

“I really wanted to meet him in person,” she shared during an interview on the Wide Awake Podcast. “He was super nice, very down to earth and he started asking me a lot of questions. Little did I know he was going off a list because he was looking for a new girlfriend.”
