In an extended interview with the ABC’s Emilia Terzon, Woolworths boss Amanda Bardwell has apologised to customers for empty shelves following strikes at its distribution centres in New South Wales and Victoria. Even liquor stores have been impacted, with some Dan Murphy’s stores having issues getting booze. Woolies has disclosed it’s so far lost $50m in sales. Ms Bardwell said Woolworths didn’t expect this situation to drag on. Woolworths is accusing the workers union of unfair bargaining tactics, which the United Workers Union disputes. The two sides will go before the Fair Work Commission on Friday.
