Supermarket giant Woolworths has confirmed it will stock Australia Day flags this year, after its “unAustralian” decision in 2024 sparked a public backlash.
“We will be celebrating Australia Day as a team, and with our customers,” a Woolworths spokesperson said in a statement on Tuesday.

The company said customers can look forward to “Perfect for Australia Day” sections in supermarkets and BIG W stores leading up to the holiday, with a particular focus on food.
Australian flags will be available in Woolworths while a larger range of Australia Day merchandise is available online.
“We also now have Aussie-made flags available for sale in our stores,” the statement reads.
The spokesperson also acknowledged last year’s decision to can the merchandise had been a mistake.
